There were a few presentations on sports in the US, then we went out and played with them. Here's a picture of me and Natalia blocking each other during football:
Fun fact: Natalia says I'm aggressive. Which is the first time in my life ANYONE has ever told me that...especially during a sport. Usually my coaches tell me to be MORE aggressive. I'm not sure exactly what that means/says about our relationship...
But I am basically in love with this picture. :)
The next day we had a big 4th of July celebration together. We sang both national anthems---ours and theirs. We ate food. And we provided/created some quality entertainment in the form of Big Bootie and Bunny Bunny (no, not chubby bunny. It's like Dippy Dippy Dip or Crazy Viking), and they taught us a few games as well. I seriously had so much fun.
There was a lady there from the US Consulate as well, and she asked me if I worked as a camp counselor back in the US. Haha. Apparently all those years of girls' camp paid off! :)
Pictures of the food, the decorations, the group, and the balloons.
Another fun fact:
Last year I went as a bunch of grapes for Halloween, and was covered with a bunch of green balloons. So one of my girls from last year posted this on facebook, asking why I am always covered in balloons.
It is a valid question.
And yet at the same time, a better question might be...why not? :)
